(0000-1573)
by Nembhard N. Culin
The 'trylon' a 700-foot triangular tower, served as the world fair's beacon and broadcasting aerial.
The last world's fair before the outbreak of hostilities in Europe was this one in New York, with its famous 'trylon and sphere' symbol, presented here in a most imaginative perspective. The 'trylon,' a 700-foot triangular tower, served as the Fair's beacon and broadcasting aerial. The 200-foot sphere had a viewing platform suspended in its center from which visitors saw a panorama of ""the world of tomorrow.""
