Poster produced for British Railways (BR), London Midland Region (LMR), promoting rail travel to Lancaster Castle in Lancashire, showing a view of the castle, which includes an 11th century Norman keep, and later medieval additions initiated by John of Gaunt. Elizabeth I added fortifications to the castle as a defence against the Spanish Armada.
